Knitted Cactus

Knitted cactus

Master Class

If you want to put a small cactus on a window sill or near a computer, then this is a special post for you))) I publish a description of knitting a cactus with a flower, for a more or less common cactus pot, the usual round one. The diameter of the base of the pot is 5 cm, the diameter of the upper edge is 7 cm. Surely this can be found in flower shops or ordinary hypermarkets) In extreme cases, you can take a cup of espresso coffee for such a cactus, about the same diameter)))

In order for the cactus to be smooth and even, I used quite thin green yarn Pekhorka “Children's caprice”, 225m / 50gr, and for ground in a pot I took the Trinity yarn “Royal”, 200m / 50gr.

Begin to knit green yarn.

1st row: amigurumi ring, recruit 6 loops (6)

2nd row: increase in each loop (12)

3rd row: (1 sc, 1P) * 6 times (18)

4th row: (2 sc, 1P) * 6 times (24)

5th row: (3 sc, 1P) * 6 times (30)

6th row: (4 sc, 1P) * 6 times (36)

7th row: (5 sc, 1P) * 6 times (42)

8th row: (6 sc, 1P) * 6 times (48)

9th row: (7 sc, 1P) * 6 times (54)

10th row: (8 sc, 1P) * 6 times (60)

11th-18th rows: (60 sc) (60)

19th row: (8 sc, 1u) * 6 times (54)

20th row: (7 sc, 1u) * 6 times (48)

21st row: (6 sc, 1u) * 6 times (42)

22nd row: (5 sc, 1u) * 6 times (36)

23rd row: (4 sc, 1u) * 6 times (30)

24th row: (3 sc, 1u) * 6 times (24)

We knit another 12 sbs with green yarn, then change the yarn to brown. We fill the green part of the cactus.

25th row: (24 sc) (24)

26th row: (3 sc, 1P) * 6 times (30)

27th row: (4 sc, 1P) * 6 times (36)

28th row: (5 sc, 1P) * 6 times (42)

29th row: (6 sc, 1P) * 6 times (48)

30th row: (7 sc, 1P) * 6 times (54)

31th row: (8 sc, 1P) * 6 times (60)

32nd row: (9 sc, 1P) * 6 times (66)

Leave a long thread. Such a thing should be:

We take a piece of thick cardboard or polyethylene foam (substrate tray for fruit, for example) and cut a circle slightly smaller in diameter than the top of the pot. If you attach the earth to this circle, then the knitted part will be slightly larger than the base circle.

Glue the cactus to this substrate with hot melt:

And the remaining thread tightened the edges:

We try on the cactus to the pot, we look at what height it will be fixed inside. Put the pot inside with glue, just below the place where the base will be installed, and quickly insert the cactus into the pot. We are waiting for the glue to solidify, check the reliability)))

Now we need to give the cactus some certainty of appearance.

To link the "wart" is easy:

1st row: amigurumi ring, recruit 6 loops (6)

2nd row: increase in each loop (12)

3rd row: (1 sc, 1P) * 6 times (18)

4th-5th rows: (18 sc) (18)

6th row: (1 sc, 1u) * 6 times (12)

We stuff, sew in an arbitrary place of the cactus. You can repeat the procedure, and you will have a wart cactus than me)))

Flower:
The inner part is knitted from white cotton.

1st row: amigurumi ring, recruit 6 loops (6)

2nd row: From each loop we knit a chain of 7 air loops, then we knit it back with single crochets and we close it with a connecting bar. You need to repeat this 6 times to get 6 long petals.

The outer part of the flower is knitted from light lilac cotton

1st row: amigurumi ring, dial 9 loops (9)

2nd row: From each loop we knit a chain of 9 air loops, then we knit it back with single crochets and we close it with a connecting bar. You need to repeat it 9 times to get 9 long petals.

The assembly of the flower is simple - it is necessary to withdraw all the remaining threads on the wrong side and fix. Flower stick in any place of the main cactus.
